Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

I currently do not have a brick and mortar location. I provide premium orthopedic physical therapy with a “home-centered” model. I can provide treatment in the comfort of your own home or office. This added flexibility can also allows us to meet at your gym or training facility for customized care. Please contact me for my travel radius. Care requiring further travel can be arranged for an additional fee.

Do you take insurance?

At this time, I do not file insurance claims on behalf of my patients. This means you are responsible for paying for your session at the time of the visit. If you wish to receive reimbursement through your health insurance carrier, call them directly to discuss your out of network benefits. I can provide an invoice which will have all necessary information for reimbursement to submit, independently. This “fee-for-service” model allows me to provide high quality, one-one-one treatments, creating  superior outcomes and patient experience compared to other clinics.  To learn more behind this policy, please read my blog, Fee-For-Service Physical Therapy Improves Outcomes and Reduces Cost.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes, in the event you need to cancel your session please provide 24-hour notice to avoid being charged the full session fee. Appointments are reserved especially for you. My cancellation policy allows me enough time to offer available spots to my other patients in need.

Do I need a physician’s referral for physical therapy?

No. In Massachusetts, it is not required to see a physician to obtain a referral to be evaluated or treated by a physical therapist. Please note insurance carriers will sometimes have additional requirements to receive reimbursement.  if you plan to submit to your insurance company, please call them directly first to discuss their specific requirements.

When should I start seeing improvements with physical therapy?

This depends on many unique factors, including your goals and expectations. The level of improvement can vary greatly patient-to-patient. However, I use advanced techniques an evidence based medicine with each patient. You should notice some change in how you feel after each treatment session.

How many sessions do I need?

This depends on your individual situation, needs, and goals. Once we’ve completed your Initial Evaluation, I can provide you with an estimated length of care based on my clinical knowledge and current evidence-based medicine.

Will I see the same physical therapist every time?

Yes. All sessions are provided by me, Dr. Andrew DeStefano, PT. You will never be passed on to an assistant or aide at any point in your treatment.
